The Northern Stars Swimming Club put on a stellar performance at the Cannonvale Swimming Club’s annual Australia Day meet, delivering a day filled with outstanding swims, personal bests, and incredible team spirit. With fierce competition in the water and plenty of fun on pool deck, our swimmers represented the club with pride and determination.

Standout Performances

Our swimmers gave it their all, with several standout moments worth celebrating:

🏆 Matthew dominated the SKINS events, taking home the prize money with an impressive display of speed and endurance.

💪 Daniel achieved state time qualifications in Breaststroke, a fantastic milestone in his swimming journey.

🌟 Kyah-Perry stepped up to race her first individual Medley, showing great determination and skill.

🔥 Visitor Dylan made his mark by qualifying for the 13+ SKINS in all four strokes, an outstanding achievement.

🚀 Lelani took on new challenges and different strokes in just her second-ever swim meet, showing great courage and enthusiasm.

🥈 Reid tackled the 200m Individual Medley with confidence, securing a silver medal for his efforts.

🏊‍♂️ Gryf delivered incredible performances across all events, proving his consistency and strength.

Amelia and Benjamin showed off their speed and determination in the Under-8 events, making a big impact in their age group.

🚀 Tyler swam like a rocket in the SKINS events and absolutely nailed his turns in the longer distance races, demonstrating skill and precision.

Team Spirit & Sportsmanship

While the results were impressive, what stood out even more was the amazing support and sportsmanship displayed by our swimmers. From cheering on teammates to encouraging competitors, the Northern Stars spirit was on full display. The Australia Day celebrations added to the atmosphere, making the meet even more special.

A Wet & Wild Finish

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans for the end of the meet. Heavy rain swept in, leading to the cancellation of the final events. While it was disappointing not to finish the competition, safety came first, and our swimmers still left with plenty to be proud of.

A huge thank you to Cannonvale Swimming Club for hosting such a well-run and enjoyable event. Thanks also to our dedicated coaches for their guidance, the parents and supporters for their encouragement, and, most importantly, to our swimmers for their hard work and determination.

With another successful meet behind us, we’re looking forward to the next challenge. Keep training hard, and let’s continue to shine in the pool!
